Spring Pools In My Hometown

I was born in a city located between Solo and Yogyakarta. So, it’s about an hour from both cities. I spent my time in my hometown about 12 years. But I lived with my parents only 9 years. As I moved to my grandparents’ and my aunty’s place for High school. Then I moved to Yogyakarta for studying in University until now.

Hello from my hometown!

When I was in Senior High School, I lived in a place near the springs. Even I have so many friends who live in the spring areas. Once a month, they took me to go around the village to see the spring pools. There are spring pools in each villages. It has a very clear water and very nice to go swimming there. One of the biggest spring pools is used for the famous drinking water brand in Indonesia. It is from my hometown. If you get Garuda Indonesia flight, you will see the water from my hometown.

I really miss this water when I am far away from my hometown. It is very clear and very good for your skin. Fresh! Love it! We call our hometown with Kota 1000 Umbul (A Thousand Spring Pools City). Kota means city in Bahasa Indonesia, Umbul means spring pools in Javanese Language. Actually we have the tagline Bersinar (Shiny) for my hometown. The name of my city is Klaten, so people usually said Klaten Bersinar (Shiny Klaten). In this post, I will share the photos of two spring pools that I visited with my friends.

Clear water

One is called with Embung Kapilaler (Kapilaler spring pools). I often visited this one with my best classmates. Even we could do shampooing in the pool because it has stream water so, that would be alright and it would not pollute the water in the pool.

The spring pool

The spring pools are always having big trees near it. We never know the reason. My mom has told me about the spring pools. A long time ago, there were hermits who walked and when they were thirsty, they would step on the stick on the land. Then the water would appear. Mmmm… It’s a bit weird for me. Ha Ha Ha

If you see my pictures here with complete clothes, it doesn’t mean that we didn’t know that we should wear swimming dress. But, it because of the people around the area haven’t used to see people wearing swimming dresses especially Bikini.

The other spring pool is called with Umbul Manten (Bride’s Spring pool). People believe that if couple go to this spring pool, they will be united someday. Ha Ha Ha… That was information from my friend in this picture who is living around the spring pool.

I never take my boyfriend to this place! I went to the place with my friends. The spring pools will be full of people one day before Ramadhan or Fasting month. We had ritual to have big shower before fasting. Hopefully next week I can go swimming there before Ramadhan next month.
