Kartini’s Day!

one of the

Selamat Hari Kartini Indonesia!

The day to remember that women were born to have the same rights with men.

Thank you for our mother, Kartini who became a model for woman emancipation in Indonesia.

We are Indonesian women should remember that we need to have high education and to reach our dreams.

I am not a good public speaker,

so I will not make a long speech in my blog especially in this Kartini’s day.

I just want to remind us that we have a  woman hero that we have to respect and remember.

Usually, there will be a ceremony in every school and also a parade by wearing traditional costumes from Indonesia. Although Ibu Kartini is from Jepara, Central Java but she is a model and a leader for woman emancipation in Indonesia. That is why we celebrate by wearing different costumes to show that Indonesian women are Kartini’s generation.

That is why I choose Balinese makeup and properties, besides that I feel so close with the culture, I also admire women in Bali who are still working harder than the men especially in daily life which is not happened a lot in Java or the other places now.

In the parade, the children will sing the song for Kartini.

So, here is the song for Kartini’s day:

Ibu Kita Kartini, created by W.R. Supratman

Ibu kita Kartini, Putri sejati (Our mother, Kartini is a real princess)

Putri Indonesia, Harum namanya (Indonesian princess, has a good name)
Ibu kita Kartini, Pendekar bangsa (Our mother, Kartini a knight for our nation)

Pendekar kaumnya, Untuk merdeka (a knight for women, for freedom)
Wahai ibu kita Kartini, Putri yang mulia (Ouh our mother, Kartini a noble princess)

Sungguh besar cita-citanya, Bagi Indonesia (Your dream is big for Indonesia)
Ibu kita Kartini, Putri yang suci (Our mother Kartini, a holy princess)

Putri yang merdeka Cita-citanya (A princess of freedom)
Wahai ibu kita Kartini, Putri yang mulia(Ouh our mother, Kartini a noble princess)

Sungguh besar cita-citanya, Bagi Indonesia (Her dream is big dream! for Indonesia)
